Last day in Kazakhstan

The road was fine, a highway which was big enough to feel safe cycling over night. I was cycling and each 2 hours I had a short stop to have some rest and having internet on my mobile was good enough to keep updating my FB. it was completely dark and weather was really cool, so good to cycle then. I was passing a house which people were selling some traditional drink made by milk product. The lady called me to stop and have some. It was almost my last chance to have more some kind of drinks so I just stopped. But when I was asked her how much I should pay she just said no need to pay. It is a gift from us to you!!! That’s why I keep saying I love Kazakh people, they are really nice and hospitable.

Last day in Almaty

I got my Uzbekistan transit visa on July 2 which was already 2 days after my Kazakh visa expired…I knew that Kazakhstan has a very tough regulation about visa stuff but I didn’t pay attention very much. I was not actually worry about it. It was Saturday when I went to Uzbekistan embassy to get my visa. They have told me that I can pick up my visa on Saturday even though it is not a working day. We were negotiating about the time and they told me “no problem, we will open the door just for you!!!” Anyway it began to rain around 10am but I took my bike and I went to Uzbek embassy. It was closed !!!

1400km all the way to Astana

It was hot inside the train and no one I could communicate and a bit busy. I couldn’t leave my seat because there might be someone taking it (I had no ticket so.. !!!). I looked at my map few times and every time I was making a line on it through in my mind through Gezelorda. I was counting distances and estimating how long it would take me to get in to the Almaty. The image I had in my mind from Kazakhstan always was like a very vast green lands and a lot of horses.
