Cycling around the world in support of environmental stewardship

Back to Iran

Leaving Korea and going back to Iran for getting visa I was still in Korea and didn’t know what exactly to do for taking next step in my way. I didn’t know exactly how to manage my plan with Rick for peace ride project and how to get visa and join him. Whenever I am in this kind of dark situation, I used to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere to think more .I needed a place to be alone .Because of my style of life ,I couldn’t provide this environment easily. Fortunately my friend who was my host left his house and went to another city for meeting his girl friend in holiday weekend and during this time, I could rest, think and make decisions. The next step was getting clearer. In order to get Switzerland visa, I must return to Iran. I asked one of my friends to book an appointment in Switzerland embassy in Iran for presenting my forms and document. I didn’t want to waste my time in Iran for making this appointment. The next day, I went to Seoul and had a call from Oman embassy. I was informed that my visa requirement accepted and I could stay in this country for 3 weeks. When I realized that they needed 2 more days for investigating my documents, it was a kind of rude to me and I expected them more respect! For getting 3 week visa in this country, I had paid 250$ and presented lots of documents!!!More investigating was more than enough, I thought!!! For flying to Iran, I needed a cheap flight ticket. After searching the internet for finding a cheap ticket, I found an indirect path from Seoul to Tehran with 3 flights and 2 stops. Although it took me 10 hours more than direct flight but it was cheaper about 400$.So,It was OK. The only problem that I had was the extra charge of carrying my bike and baggage by plane that was expensive. The next day, I went to the flight agency. After presenting my documents and introducing my background, they accepted not to take me the charge of loan. Korean people did me a favor again. After arriving Iran which was in Thursday morning (December 26),I spent all the Friday and Saturday to meet my friends in Tehran although it wasn’t my goal for travelling in Iran but I did it because the most important purpose of my trips is talking to people, reminding them their dreams, encouraging them to live differently and help them pay more attention to what they really want in their lives .So, I share my time with them and enjoy …. On Sunday, I went to Switzerland embassy and presented filled visa forms. The man who was in charge of checking my visa forms asked me a flight ticket and told me that the number of the flight ticket is necessary in visa form!!!The reason of that man for having the flight ticket and being necessary in visa was funny and ridiculous to me!!! The next day my uncle called me from train station and told me that I was going to Mashhad.I was in Iran for getting my visa but there was holiday for 4 days in Iran. It was a good idea to go to Mashhad and meet my family and friends. I have lived in lots of different places and seen different people with different cultures. Where ever I have been on the earth, I have never had home sick. I have felt every point of the earth is my home and have tried to touch them and enjoy as much as I can but there is something different in Iran and in my city ,Mashhad, somthing different that gives me special feeling and emotion which is not as same as all the feelings I have experienced in every part of the world. I travel to see new things but seeing my country, city and people of that over and over never get me tired! Being in my country and especially in the city where I grew up and spent my childhood gives me an emotion that is truly unique!

November 17

After 6 amazing months in Argentina, I am in Chile now. At the moment I am far south in Punta Arena and will go north soon. I needed two days of complete rest and now I am just in a room doing almost nothing to recover my body and mind. Last month was very tense for me an da lot of work ( Of course traveling ) and my body forced me to shut down for two days. I will start cycling from Monday again.
